Literature Text

"What's another Freak Show doing in town? One was here last month. We don't need this many!"
"Oh, but dear, there's such a huge surplus of freaks, now that the Faerie's are free . . ."
A caption underneath a political cartoon by Bobbi Linux, of two couples under a venue staring at a poster from the Clobbed Crow Circus. Dated B203.

The opening night's air was muggy and hopeful, as if even the air was willing the show to thrive. Or at least that's what Digmus Crow told himself, as he passed by his first act; they assured him that there would be no mess-ups. They would be up with the curtain- nothing could stand in their way.

Crow believed he could help his brothers and sisters by opening this circus, by giving them a feel of humanity, however decrepit it may be. Something to wedge themselves under the dark wing of the world above their homeland. But that was three years ago, and as time passed it left a dent in his conscious. His brothers and sisters had gone on into the world. Now he truly had freaks in his circus.

Now it was as broken as his smile. The circus couldn't keep going for much longer, but for now it didn't matter. It was time to give his show. He bristled his feathers, tapped his cane and entered the bright pavilion; it was time for a show that humanity would never forget . . .
This story follows the paths of crude humor and fantasy, as dictated by the guys at *Flash-Fic-Month.

I started up a bit late, but I will try and write when I can.
